AUSTIN, TX – Medics transported one person to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in east-central Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 2:58 p.m. at the intersection of East 51st Street and Airport Boulevard, which is just west of I-35 and south of Koenig Lane.
Police have not yet commented on what caused the accident. They say the vehicle caught fire, at which point ATCEMS rescued the person trapped inside and took them to Dell Seton Medical Center.
