AUSTIN, TX – One person died last Thursday night after a vehicle struck them along the freeway in northwest Austin, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. on the northbound side of Mopac near US-183, which is in the North Crossing area.
Police haven’t specified the cause of the accident, but they say the pedestrian died at the scene. The victim’s identity is still forthcoming.
It’s not yet clear if the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene to render aid and speak with police.
Officials closed the northbound lanes of the freeway while teams attended to the victim and worked to clear the scene.
