AUSTIN, TX – One person sustained critical injuries Sunday night when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in southeast Austin, reports CBS Austin.
The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. in the area of East Riverside Drive and Willow Creek Drive. This is adjacent to HEB Plus! and just northwest of Pleasant Valley Road.
It’s not yet clear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision. Additionally, police haven’t disclosed whether the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene to render aid and speak with police.
The victim went to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
