AUSTIN, TX – Two people died Wednesday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian in east-central Austin, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on the westbound side of US-290 between Cameron Road and US-183.
Police say that a motorcycle struck a pedestrian along the highway. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking along the shoulder or in a lane of travel.
Authorities pronounced two people deceased at the scene of the accident. They’ve not yet released the names of the victims.
Officials urged drivers to expect significant delays along the highway while emergency teams responded to the scene.
