KILLEEN, TX – A 67-year-old woman died late Wednesday morning when a Killeen police chase involving a stolen car ended in a crash.
According to the Killeen Daily Herald, the accident happened shortly before noon near the intersection of Trimmier Road and Grandon Drive. This is just north of I-14 and west of the Killeen Mall.
Police say that two teens in a stolen Jeep Gladiator led them on a chase, which ended when the Jeep crashed head-on into a silver Ford Fusion. The Fusion then hit a black Ford F-150, which rolled on its side.
The driver of the Fusion died at the scene of the collision. Authorities have not yet released her name to the public.
Medics transported two passengers from the Fusion and the driver of the pickup truck to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The two teens from the stolen Jeep fled the scene on foot. Authorities located them not long after.
A full investigation is underway.
