CEDAR PARK, TX – A young man sustained fatal injuries Saturday in an alleged street-racing accident along the toll road in southwest Williamson County.
Emergency teams responded to the southbound side of the 183A Toll Road between Scottsdale Drive and New Hope Drive shortly before midnight after receiving reports of a major crash.
Police say that two southbound vehicles were travelling at speeds that exceeded 100 miles per hour when one vehicle attempted to pass the other and struck the guardrail.
The driver of the vehicle that crashed died at the scene. Authorities identified him as 19-year-old Jacob Langford.
Officials haven’t yet shared any details concerning the other driver, and it’s unclear if they will face charges in connection to the wreck.
A full investigation is underway.
