GARFIELD, TX – An air ambulance reported to the scene of a serious accident along the highway in Garfield on Monday afternoon, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on the westbound side of TX-71 near Albert Brown Drive. This is about eight miles east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Thus far, police haven’t disclosed the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved, or the manner in which the vehicles impacted.
Authorities say that one person became entrapped and required extrication.
One person sustained critical injuries and went to the hospital via STAR Flight. Medics transported four additional patients to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
