AUSTIN, TX – A major accident in southeast Austin killed one person and injured another over the weekend, reports KXAN.

Sometime before 7 p.m. Saturday, emergency teams responded to FM 1625 just north of Sassman Road. This is south of Skyline Park and less than ten miles southwest of the airport.

It’s not yet clear what caused the collision, nor do we know how many vehicles might have been involved.

Authorities declared one person deceased at the scene. That person has not yet been publicly identified.

Another person involved in the wreck sustained serious injuries and required hospitalization. They are expected to survive.
