AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Police Department have identified the individual who was killed in a five-vehicle crash in North Austin last week.
According to CBS Austin, 26-year-old Jacob Byrd was killed after his vehicle was struck while attempting to turn out of an apartment complex at 7655 FM 620.
The first vehicle to strike Byrd was a Jeep Cherokee, which caused a chain reaction involving three other vehicles and ejected Byrd from his car.
The driver of an SUV involved in the crash exited her vehicle to check on the other motorists before fleeing the scene. Her identity has not been confirmed.
