AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin have identified the woman killed in a previously reported auto vs. pedestrian crash earlier this month.
According to the Austin American Statesman, the accident happened within the intersection of Cameron Road and Ferguson Lane shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15th.
Martina Venancio-Cabrera, 39, was killed while attempting to cross from the east sidewalk on Cameron Road. The driver of a Ford F-550 failed to notice Venancio-Cabrera in the crosswalk and struck her while attempting to turn onto Cameron Rd.
She was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center where she died shortly after. The driver remained at the scene cooperating with the investigation. They have been cited for failing to yield to the right-of-way.
