AUSTIN, TX – Police in Austin have released additional information regarding a deadly crash last weekend on Interstate 35.
This is an update to a previous story.
In a news release, the Austin Police Department identified the person who died as 22-year-old Alexis Enrique Aguirre Torres.
Torres was a passenger in a Kia Forte that collided with a Toyota Corolla, an Acura TL and a Pontiac Grand Prix early Saturday in the 4900 block of N. IH-35 north at about 2 a.m. The driver of the Kia and all four passengers inside were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas.
The Toyota Corolla driver, 23-year-old Jessica Nicole Vasquez, was arrested at the scene for DWI.
Investigators said initial reports stating that the Kia was going in the wrong direction were inaccurate. Austin police are continuing their investigation into the wreck.
