AUSTIN, TX – A man who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Austin last month has been identified by police, KXAN reports.

The Austin Police Department asid the pedestrian killed was 62-year-old Calvin Ray Dukes. Investigators said Dukes was experiencing homelessness and was pushing a shopping cart across State Highway 45 April 20 when he was struck by a vehicle shortly before 2:30 a.m. Dukes was declared dead at the scene.
The driver fled on foot following the incident, police said. The vehicle involved is believed to have been a gray 2010 Lexus.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact vehicular homicide detectives at the Austin Police Department.
