AUSTIN, TX – Police and first responders were at the scene of a fatal crash in Northwest Austin early Sunday morning, CBS Austin reported.

The accident happened in the 9400 block of Research Boulevard at the intersection with Texas 360 sometime before 3 a.m.

Four patients were transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and Dell Seton Medical Center. One person was pronounced dead at the hospital, two others were seriously injured and another sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

The northbound lanes of Research Boulevard at the Capital of Texas Highway were closed for the accident investigation.  No details were released on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
