AUSTIN, TX – The victim of a fatal pedestrian accident in Austin last month has been identified by police, according to KVUE.
The man killed was 31-year-old Brian J. Box, police said. The crash happened May 18 on the I-35 southbound service road. Investigators said Box was standing in the road when he was hit by a vehicle that kept on going.
While lying in the roadway, he was also struck by a 2008 Saturn. Box was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver did stay at the scene and was reported to be cooperating with investigators.
Police are continuing to investigate the second vehicle, and anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact the Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at the Austin Police Department.
