AUSTIN, TX – An alleged drunk driver was involved in a crash that sent an Austin police officer to the hospital early Monday morning, according to KXAN.
The accident happened in the vicinity of East 15th Street and Trinity Street at about 1:15 a.m. The Austin Police Department said the on-duty officer was driving a patrol car that collided with another vehicle.
The officer and two people in the other vehicle were hospitalized, but no details were released on the extent of their injuries. Police say the driver of the second vehicle is now facing a charge of DWI.
The accident remains under investigation.
