AUSTIN, TX — A driver was seriously injured Thursday night after a crash on a Research Boulevard ramp caused him to fall 30 feet in north Austin, according to CBS Austin.
Fire crews responded to the accident on the Research Boulevard northbound onramp to Mopac Boulevard near the North Crossing area at around 2:49 a.m.
The driver was on the ramp when his Toyota 4-Runner struck the median, causing him to fall 30 feet and land on the service road below.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but authorities say he is expected to live.
An investigation remains underway as investigators try to learn how the man was ejected while his vehicle stayed on the ramp.
