AUSTIN, TX — One person was hospitalized Tuesday night after being hit by a driver on South MoPac Expressway in southeast Austin, according to KVUE.

The incident occurred in the 2200 block of the expressway, near the Sunset Valley Marketfair shopping center, shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS said crews arrived to find one person unconscious at the scene. The victim was rushed to St. David’s Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.

It was unclear whether anyone was arrested at the scene or if any charges are expected to be filed.

No further details have been released on the events leading up to the crash.
