AUSTIN, TX – A man was hit and critically injured by a driver in southeast Austin Wednesday morning, reports CBS Austin. 

The pedestrian was struck at 3017 South I-35 northbound near Woodward Street around 4:35 a.m. Austin-Travis County EMS found the victim severely injured in the roadway.

He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The driver who struck the man fled the scene. It’s not clear at this time whether police have a suspect description or not.
