AUSTIN, TX – One person died when a pickup truck collided with a motorcycle on West Slaughter Lane in the Texas Oaks area of South Austin on Friday.
KXAN reports that the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Slaughter and Texas Oaks Drive.
Police say an eyewitness told them that the collision occurred when the westbound pickup truck turned left into the path of the eastbound motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash. It is unclear if the driver of the pickup truck sustained any injuries.
Officials closed the eastbound lanes of Slaughter until at least 4 a.m. following the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
