AUSTIN, TX – Officials closed a portion of South First Street in Austin on Thursday when a crash involving two vehicles caused one car to catch fire, reports Fox 7 Austin.
The incident happened before 1:21 p.m. in the area of South First Street and Cardinal Lane. Officials closed South First between Lightsey Road and West Alpine Road.
The Austin Fire Department reported that one of the vehicles involved in a two-car collision caught fire after hitting a privacy fence.
Neither of the drivers involved in the accident required hospitalization.
Police have not commented on the cause of the crash. A full investigation is underway.
