AUSTIN, TX – One person was hospitalized last Friday evening after their car ran off of a North Austin roadway and crashed into a detention pond, reports CBS Austin.

The incident happened sometime before 8:32 p.m. in the area of 9200 Metric Boulevard, which is between Rundberg Lane and Research Boulevard.

Authorities have not commented on how the crash happened, but they have said that only one vehicle was involved.

First responders worked at the scene to extricate a person who was entrapped in the overturned vehicle. Medics then transported the patient on trauma alert to Dell-Seton Medical Center.

No other injuries have been reported in connection with the wreck. A full investigation is underway.
