ROUND ROCK, TX – One person went to the hospital Thursday after a multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler on a highway in south-central Williamson County, reports CBS Austin.
Police say the incident happened around 8:05 a.m. on the westbound side of State Highway 45 between Greenlawn Boulevard and Interstate 35.
Authorities have not detailed how the crash happened but have indicated that the semi-truck caught fire and that the Round Rock Fire Department responded to the scene.
Medics transported one person from the crash to St. David’s Round Rock with non-critical injuries.
Crews closed all lanes on the westbound side of SH-45 in the vicinity of the crash for a short time. They re-opened one lane of westbound SH-45 by 8:15 a.m., and all lanes were open by 9:45 a.m.
