LIBERTY HILL, TX – An Austin Police Officer died Friday morning when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at an intersection in Liberty Hill, reports KXAN.

Police say the incident happened just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 29 and Highway 1869.

The investigation thus far indicates that an eastbound Lincoln MKZ turned in front of the officer’s westbound motorcycle while making a left turn onto Highway 1869 from State Highway 29. At that time, the motorcycle collided with the Lincoln.

Authorities identified the victim as Senior APD Officer Anthony “Tony” Martin.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
