TRAVIS CO., TX – One person died, and another went to the hospital on a trauma alert after two vehicles collided on a highway just south of Spicewood Tuesday, KXAN reports.
Austin-Travis County EMS says the incident happened around 12:27 p.m. in the area of 25500 W SH-71, which is near the intersection with Paleface Ranch Road.
While it is unclear how the accident happened, ACTEMS reports that it involved two large trucks, each with one occupant. One driver became entrapped and had to be extricated from their vehicle by emergency crews.
One trucker died at the scene of the accident, and medics airlifted the other driver on a trauma alert to Dell Seton Medical Center.
