AUSTIN, TX – An adult pedestrian died early Sunday morning after a vehicle struck them along the interstate in east-central Austin, reports KXAN.

Police say the incident happened around 4:41 a.m. in the area of 6700 North I-35, which is just north of Airport Boulevard.

Authorities have not said how the accident happened, but medics say the pedestrian died at the scene of the crash.

It is still unclear whether the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
