LOCKHART, TX – A driver is facing charges after entering the path of a school bus on the highway in Lockhart Thursday morning, reports CBS Austin.
Police say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of US-183 and State Highway 142.
The investigation thus far indicates that a sedan on SH-142 turned in front of a southbound special education bus on US-183. The crash caused the bus to collide with a car dealership.
Officials say that the bus was not carrying children at the time of the crash and that nobody reported injuries.
Police are charging the driver of the sedan for a failure to yield the right of way.
A full investigation is underway.
