AUSTIN, TX – Medics transported an adult male to the hospital early Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck him at a busy south Austin intersection, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 1:59 a.m. near the intersection of East Oltorf Street and Burton Drive, which is just east of I-35.

Police haven’t said how the accident happened, but they disclosed that the pedestrian sustained critical injuries, for which he is being treated at Dell Seton Medical Center.

It’s still unclear if the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene.
