SAN ANTONIO, TX – One man died on Thursday, and two were detained after a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash along the interstate in north San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the 1-10 access road near Medical Drive, which is just east of Kindred Hospital San Antonio.
Police say the crash involved a black 2014 Cadillac CTS, an orange Camaro, and a silver sedan.
The chain-reaction started when the first car hit a rock while speeding, which caused the vehicle to crash into a fence and overturn. The force of the collision threw the driver from the car.
The orange Camaro, which was also speeding on the I-10 frontage road, collided with the rear of the Cadillac, and the silver sedan crashed into a tree.
The driver of the Cadillac died after transport to a local hospital.
Police took the other two drivers into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
A full investigation is underway.
