NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – A 41-year-old driver died early Thursday after a head-on collision along a busy roadway in New Braunfels, reports KXAN.
The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. in the area of 1000 FM 306, which is between Hunter Road and FM 1102.
Police have not shared many details about how the crash occurred. They say two pickup trucks crashed into each other on FM 306.
One of the drivers, identified as Reva Garza, died at the scene of the accident.
The other driver, identified as 21-year-old Juan Sebastian Vargas, sustained very minor injuries. A blood test revealed that Vargas was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Police charged him after his release from the hospital.
Two passengers from the second pickup truck suffered serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
