SALADO, TX – A 17-year-old male died late last month after colliding with two other vehicles along a highway near Salado, reports KCENTV 6.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 24th, on FM 2843 west of Salado, which is in south-central Bell County.
Police say that the victim was headed westbound in a Nissan when he attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of him by entering the eastbound lane. The Nissan then collided head-on with a Honda Odyssey van, first, and then with a Freightliner semi-truck. Authorities say the teen was attempting to pass vehicles using a no-passing zone.
The 17-year-old died at the scene of the accident. None of the other drivers and passengers sustained injuries in the crash.
