AUSTIN, TX – One person died early Sunday morning after jumping out of a moving vehicle along a busy North Austin roadway, reports CBS Austin.

The incident happened around 4:18 a.m. on West Anderson Lane near the intersection with North Lamar Boulevard, which is in the Crestview area.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a passenger jumped from a vehicle while it was driving on West Anderson Lane. Another vehicle then struck the victim before fleeing the scene. The person who jumped died at the scene of the accident.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, nor have they shared any details about the hit-and-run vehicle.
