AUSTIN, TX – A 19-yer-old man is facing charges after a single-vehicle crash on I-35 claimed the life of his passenger on Monday night.
According to CBS Austin, Leo Anthony Carreto-Lopez was heading north on the interstate near Crown Colony Drive when his vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a tree.
A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Teresa Gonzales, suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.
Carreto-Lopez was taken into custody on intoxication manslaughter charges.

Leo Carreto-Lopez pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated. He originally faced a charge of intoxication manslaughter, but it was reduced by the state, court records show. He is serving 10 days in the Travis County Jail for his sentence, documents stated.
