AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian died Thursday from injuries sustained when a vehicle struck them in South Austin on Wednesday, reports KXAN.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. between Goodrich Avenue and Kinney Road on South Lamar. This is just west of Ricky Guerrero Park.

Police say that medics transported the pedestrian to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center immediately following the crash. The victim died the next day in the hospital. Officials have not yet released their name to the public.

The driver involved in the accident showed no signs of impairment and stopped at the scene to talk with authorities.

A full investigation is underway.
