AUSTIN, TX – One person went to the hospital early Saturday morning after an accident along a highway in southeast Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 2:19 a.m. on the northbound side of Bastrop Highway near Montopolis Drive, which is just southeast of the Colorado River Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
Police have not yet commented on the cause of the accident. They say that emergency teams rescued at least one person from their vehicle and transported them on a trauma alert to Dell Seton. The patient sustained serious injuries but will likely survive.
