AUSTIN, TX – One person went to the hospital early Tuesday evening after a two-vehicle crash just east of downtown Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened at 5:55 p.m. on East Cesar Chavez Street near Springdale Road. This is just northwest of the Colorado River Park Wildlife Sanctuary.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Police say that a motorcycle and a vehicle collided and that one person sustained serious injuries.
Medics transported the injured party to Dell Seton Medical Center on a trauma alert.
Officials urged drivers to avoid the area or expect significant delays while crews worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
