AUSTIN, TX – One person sustained injuries Sunday when a vehicle struck them along a busy roadway in South Austin, reports KXAN.
The accident happened at night on South 1st Street, just north of West Dittmar Road. This is northwest of Williams Elementary School, near the Thicket Food Park.
Austin Police are looking for a small black sedan with damage to its front end. They say the vehicle hit a pedestrian on South 1st before fleeing the scene. They think the car may have been a 2019-2023 Toyota Corolla.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
