AUSTIN, TX – Emergency crews reported to an injury collision Thursday night along the freeway in South Austin, reports ATCEMS.

The incident happened around 8:48 p.m. in the area of South Mopac Expressway and Barton Skyway, which is just west of Zilker Metropolitan Park.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Medics transported one person from the vehicle as a trauma alert to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. The victim sustained serious injuries.
Drivers likely experienced delays along this stretch of Mopac on Thursday night while crews worked to clear the scene.
