WILLIAMSON CO., TX – A 65-year-old Georgetown woman died early last month when debris from another vehicle struck her windshield.
According to Fox 7 Austin, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 4th, along Ronald Reagan Boulevard on the northern outskirts of Georgetown.
Police say that the camper shell on a truck became detached and fell onto the windshield of a passing vehicle, causing it to overturn and hit another car.
During the accident, the camper shell hit the woman’s head, entrapping her in her car.
The victim, identified as Kimberly Martin, died in the hospital four days after the accident.
The truck that was carrying the camper shell fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Three weeks later, authorities located and arrested the driver, whom they’ve identified as Christopher Federoff.
Thus far, Federoff faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
The investigation is ongoing.
