AUSTIN, TX – A man died Saturday evening when a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in south-central Austin, reports KVUE.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Menchaca Road and Davis Lane, which is near the Davis Hill Estates and Waterloo neighborhoods.

Police say that 21-year-old Anissa Zapata was intoxicated when she hit a pedestrian, killing him at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

Zapata faces felony DUI charges pertaining to an accident involving death.
