ROUND ROCK, TX – A 35-year-old woman died late Monday morning in a chain-reaction crash along the interstate in Round Rock.
According to CBS Austin, the accident happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35 near RM 620, which is just southwest of CD Fulkes Middle School.
Police say the incident involved 10 vehicles and a dump truck.
The pileup occurred when one vehicle struck another during an abrupt lane change. A chain-reaction of collisions ensued, ultimately pushing a dump truck into the southbound lanes of the interstate.
One person died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Alexa White of Fort Cavazos.
Medics transported three people to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
