ELGIN, TX – One person died, and four people went to the hospital Saturday night after a vehicle crashed along a busy roadway near Elgin, reports KXAN.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. in the area of 12200 County Line Road, which is between Albert Voelker Road and Monkey Road.

Police have not yet disclosed how the crash occurred. They say two people became pinned under the vehicle, one of whom died at the scene of the accident.

Medics extricated the other pinned person and transported them and three other people to the hospital. One of the patients was transported via STAR Flight with critical injuries.

A full investigation of the crash is underway.
