MARBLE FALLS, TX – A 51-year-old female passenger died last Wednesday when a pickup truck collided with a sedan on a highway in Marble Falls, reports CBS Austin.
Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of US 281 and Fairland Road, or RM 1855.
The investigation thus far suggests that a northbound 2003 Kia Optima was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford F-150 at a red light. Authorities say the pickup truck was driving at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.
The Kia carried three occupants, one of whom died at the scene of the collision. Authorities identified her as Betsy Hill.
It is unclear if anyone else from the Kia or the Ford sustained injuries in the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
