AUSTIN, TX – An adult pedestrian sustained fatal injuries Thursday when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in northwest Austin.
According to KXAN, the accident happened just after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Jollyville Road and Thunder Creek Road, which is just southwest of Davis Elementary School in the Oaks of Jollyville area.
Police haven’t shared many details about the circumstances of the crash. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking in the roadway or attempting to cross the street when the vehicle hit them.
Emergency teams performed CPR on the pedestrian before they were pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has not yet been named publicly.
The driver involved in the wreck did stop to render aid and speak with officials. It’s unclear if they will face charges in connection to the accident.
