AUSTIN, TX – Medics transported two people to the hospital late Thursday night after two cars collided on a highway in east-central Austin, reports KXAN.
Police say the incident happened just before midnight on North FM 973 between Platt Road and FM 969, which is an area just north of Del Valle.
It is unclear at this time how the accident happened, but Austin-Travis County EMS reported that a teen and an adult had become entrapped in their vehicles.
After extrication, medics took the teenager to the hospital with serious injuries.
A STAR flight team airlifted the adult patient to the hospital, also with serious injuries.
A full investigation of the crash is underway.
