AUSTIN, TX – Two children and five adults sustained serious injuries when two cars collided along the highway near Mustang Ridge on Monday, reports KVUE.
The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on the northbound side of US-183 at Evelyn Road, which is just south of TX-45 in far south Austin.
It’s still unclear what caused the accident, but police say two occupants were found unconscious and three were pinned in their vehicles.
One child and one adult sustained critical injuries. Four other adults and a second child went to the hospital with serious injuries.
The crash caused significant delays on US-183 on Monday while crews cleared the scene.
