AUSTIN, TX – Two people died, and one person went to the hospital after two cars collided on a highway in South Austin early Monday, reports KXAN.
Police say the crash happened just before 1:50 a.m. on the northbound side of U.S. Highway 183, just north of East Riverside Drive.
The early investigation indicates that the accident involved a tow truck and a car. It is still unclear how the incident occurred.
ATCEMS reports that one person became pinned in the wreckage. They declared two people deceased at the scene of the crash, and they transported one person on a trauma alert to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center.
A full investigation is underway.
