AUSTIN, TX – Medics transported two children to the hospital Monday after a crash in the Montopolis area of east-central Austin.
According to KXAN, the incident involved two vehicles and happened just before 7:20 p.m. on the southbound side of South Highway 183, near the intersection with Montopolis Drive.
Police haven’t yet disclosed any details regarding the cause of the accident or the vehicles involved. They say that two children went to Dell Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries. An adult at the scene declined medical care.
Officials closed Highway 183 in the area of the crash while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
