KILLEEN, TX – A driver and his passenger were both critically hurt when their car collided with a police cruiser in Killeen last month.
According to KWTX 10, the incident happened on Wednesday, September 6, at 9:44 p.m. at the intersection of W.S. Young Drive and Poage Avenue. This is just southwest of Peebles Elementary School.
Authorities say that a police officer was pursuing two other vehicles that were racing northbound on W.S. Young when his cruiser collided with a red car in the intersection. The red car had been headed eastbound on Poage Avenue.
The force of the collision threw both the driver and his female passenger from the red vehicle. Medics transported them to the hospital with critical injuries.
The police officer sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
