AUSTIN, TX – Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash involving a semi on the interstate in south Austin, reports CBS Austin.
The accident happened around 12:18 p.m. along I-35 just north of Slaughter Lane, which is just west of Onion Creek Metropolitan Park.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the collision. They say an 18-wheeler overturned and at least one vehicle caught fire as a result of the crash.
Medics transported one person to the hospital with non-critical injuries. One other victim did not require hospitalization.
Officials closed both sides of I-35 in the area of the crash while crews worked to put out the fire and clear the scene.
