AUSTIN, TX – Crews worked to extricate at least one person Saturday after two related accidents along the interstate in east-central Austin, reports KVUE.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 35 near La Posada Avenue, which is just southeast of Austin Community College Highland Campus.
Police say that a motorcycle crashed into a HERO vehicle that had been dispatched to the scene of an earlier solo crash along the interstate. The bike became wedged under the HERO vehicle.
At least two people were injured in the crash, and one of the victims sustained critical injuries. Medics transported both patients to Dell Seton Medical Center.
Motorists likely experienced delays along the interstate while crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
